A customer (the guitarist from Bafoodus) brought in a non-working Carbon Copy. The symptoms were common: the status LED wasn't working, there wasn't any sound when the effect was engaged, and yet the MOD LED/push button were functioning fine.
I replaced a transistor and it was good to go! This is a really nice sounding delay that feels better than my L6 Echo Park
I own a CC too, and it recently broke down. The symptoms look like the same...but I can't find the value of that transistor to change. Could you please give me a hand?

DeleteIt that was it? No need to change the r7 or the Q12? Was it version one or two? Mine is version two, but it doesn't have the Diodes to protect from the static electricity.
ReplyDeleteI have a friend that builds pedals and that sort of stuff that can perform the repair, but he's got some doubts about the value of the transistors. If you could send me your e-mail with would be awesome.
Sendint the pedal to Dunlop would cost me a bit with the shipment and what not.
Yes, that's it--that's exactly where I got the part from. MXR used SMD construction, making repair much more difficult
